deadlines are the only way i actually do the shit I say I’m gonna do or even the ones I want to. Even if it’s something fun and good like a book review which I’ve never written bc why would I need to when I can read and re-read urs to find/remember the good books I’ve never heard of before!

I love a drug book. Go Ask Alice, the Oprah bookclub one, Mark Lanegans, there are always takeaways. I read Bill's cause I was looking for an agent and I thought it might come up in convo if we spoke but yes, so happy I did.

Aaah, yes, I love a drug book, too. Go Ask Alice was formative, and perhaps hatched a momentary trend of books about fucked up teenage girls which I read too young! I recently realized my underlying lifetime style influence is pop portrayals of sex workers in the 80s; I think these teen drug/trauma books are the equivalent for my insides!

I was in *a play* based on Go Ask Alice in 9th grade (I played the younger sister because I was the size of a 10 year old) and they had these "experts" come and teach us how to acted stoned and explain the already dated by 1989 drug lingo. I was so shocked when I learned it was a fake
